Team Photo

Three Godox speedlights.  First time using my Godox on camera flash as the master.  The on camera flash was set to 1/2 and the two on the side were set to 1/1.

Fungi and Team Portriats

Still teaching myself off camera flash skills and taking it to the next level.  Using Godox speedlights now with a dedicated remote trigger that is hotshoe mounted.  Taking my old OCF into the woods with me, but will start using the new one in the woods instead until I am proficient and navigating the menus.

My D500 is still in the shop with its faulty XQD card slot.  I am not at all happy with the turn around time at Nikon.  $284 that I don't have and it took them a week just to open the box.  Now maybe it will take them another week to repair it.  Was hoping to go shoot some sports tonight, but not with my good camera in the shop.

State Dance Championships in Yakima

It's all over but the shouting.  "No budget for photography".    This was my last paid job.

State Dance Championships in Yakima:

The Sundome was darker than expected.  Used a floor camera set to interval to get a few shots.  All of the best shots were with my D500 and Nikor 70-200mm f/2.8.  This was a fun experience and a nice break for me on the sunny side of the state.

Basketball

Still working on doing team photos and upping my off camera lighting skills.  The main gym at North Mason has good light but very little room to work.  It makes up for lack of room by having a balcony I can shoot from.

Sold one of my D7100, would like to get a second D500, but can't yet justify it.

Got Godox speedlights, no more messing with up to 12 AA batteries at a time.

Some front page photos

I've been getting on the front page a lot lately.  For the polar plunge I got out my old work horse Nikon D90 again.  My D90 has over 96,000 shutter actuations now and is still going strong.  The D90 got splashed a little bit but no big deal.  My 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 is the lens of choice for the job.  The lens is not as sharp as I would like, but it gets the job done and I don't have to worry about breaking it too much at it's pricepoint.
